Current Update: Sunday October 8

I have not posed in a while.  I tend to do that when I go “off the plan.”  I don’t have any particular reason, but I have not eaten well nor worked out much this week.  I did go on a nice bike ride yesterday, and I may do the same today.

However, I am not damaged.  I actually weighed in a 186.2 pounds this morning, which is a low.  I think it actually does me good to take a week off every month or so.  I think as I loose weight my body reaches a point where it pushes against me.  If I give it a week to know that it is not starving, then it starts to give up fat again.

So right now, I lost almost 10 pounds and two belt notches since mid-October.  Not to bad, really.

A great day.  I most certainly made up for yesterday.  I went on a very long bike ride, and am sitting very well on calories.

Workout

  • Bike ride: 2 canyons, 44 miles, 3235 calories.

Eating

  • -1095 net.  Yes, that’s a negative.  And I feel great.

Daily log: Friday October 30

I did really well all day…until the evening came.

As of 7:30 PM I was sitting at about 500 calories net.  Then my sister called to let me know she got into BYU’s nursing program.  I went to dinner with she and her husband to celebrate.  That killed the evening.

Then it just got worse.

As I arrived home, I met my neighbor and her friend.  We got together and carved pumpkins.  And we ate.  Badly.  I had eggnog, ice cream, peanuts, and pumpkin seeds.  I doubt the pumpkin seeds are too bad for me, but I did spray them down with a lot of cooking spray as I roasted them.  Tomorrow, I need to make this all up!  I did have a lot of fun…

I was not able to fit in a workout today, but it was still a good day. I netted 1470 calories.

Daily Log: Tuesday October 27

I have reached a new low (well, in the last few months, anyway): 187.8 lbs.  I think I have finally got things under control, and my weight seems to be headed the right direction. 

I have been vary carefully watching my eating, targeting 1350 calories a day.  My typical menu consists of:

Breakfast: Oatmeal, cereal, or granola and a banana or protein shake.
Lunch: Oatmeal or a sandwich and an apple.  Sometimes some string cheese.
Dinner: Omelet/Eggs, Ovaltine

Here is the report for today:

Workout

  • 45 minute spin on my bike while watching Heroes.  775 calories.

Eating

  • 1370 calories.  This is estimating 800 calories for a lunch with an attorney (1/2 turkey sandwich and tomato soup).  This is probably a generous estimate.
